STERLING, Va. (CBSDC) — The cost to travel the Dulles Toll Road already increased at the start of the year, but a much more drastic increase could be right around the corner.
The cost of using the road could triple over the next six years according to projections released Wednesday by the Metropolitan Airports Authority.
According to their projections, in 2018 it could cost as much as $6.75 to drive one-way on the road.
The current cost of that trip is $2.25.
The fair hikes would be used to help pay for construction of the Metrorail extension to Dulles Airport and Loudoun County.
