WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, his wife and guests were robbed at machete-point last week while they vacationed in the Caribbean.

Authorities say the armed intruder made off with approximately $1,000 in cash but nobody was hurt during the robbery.

A court spokeswoman told CNN it was unclear whether an arrest has been made in the case.

The 73-year-old justice owns a home on the Caribbean island of Nevis which is valued between $100,000 and $250,000 according to his most recent financial disclosure.

Breyer was appointed to the court in 1994 by then president Bill Clinton.

In 2004, Justice David Souter was assaulted by a group of young men while jogging.
