DuVal High School And Robert Goddard Middle School Locked Down After Nearby Shooting

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — DuVal High School and Robert Goddard Middle School were locked down Friday afternoon after a shooting was reported at a nearby apartment complex.

Prince George’s County Police say they do not believe the shooting was related to either school or its students. The school campuses were placed on lock down as a precautionary measure according to authorities.

Both schools are located in 9800 block of Good Hope Rd. in Lanaham.

WNEW’s George Mesthos reported that students were released from the schools shortly around 3:50 p.m. With no immediate threat present, students were able to walk home as they normally would.

Some parents opted to pick their children up given the events of the day.
