The Southeast Division leading Capitals hope to build off their 4-0 win over the second place Florida Panthers last night as they host Southeast Division rival, the Winnipeg Jets, tomorrow night.
“We thought it was a very complete game yesterday,” Caps forward Troy Brouwer said on the game last night.
“It’s two points, but you build, but also you got to realize that it’s a new game again,” Caps Head Coach Dale Hunter said on building from last game. “That’s in the past, we already got them two points we can’t get them again, now we got to get ones tomorrow.”
Alex Ovechkin, Brooks Laich and Dennis Wideman didn’t practice due to a “maintenance day”.
“He was good, he was good,” Hunter said on how Brooks Laich felt today following the game yesterday.
Hunter added that he does encourage players to take some practices off at this time of the season if they have some “bumps and bruises”.
The Caps forward lines looked like: Johansson-Brouwer, Hendricks-Halpern-Ward, Chimera-Perreault-Semin, Knuble-Aucoin-Beagle.
Mike Green skated once again today in full pads for the second day in a row, fourth day in pads and fifth day on the ice overall since he had abdominal surgery January 17th.
