FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (CBSDC) — One woman is dead following a five-vehicle crash that occurred at the height of Monday evening’s rush hour in Fort Washington.

Prince George’s County Police say the crash occurred in the 7700 block of Oxon Hill Rd. around 5:30 p.m.

Following preliminary investigation, police believe a the adult male driver of a Chevy Yukon crossed a double yellow line, which caused another vehicle to flip. The woman driving the overturned vehicle was killed.

Four additional victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Oxon Hill Rd. remained closed in both directions for hours as authorities investigated the accident.
