Dupont Drug Explosion: Luxury Apartment Evacuated
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - People who live in a luxury apartment building in Dupont Circle are being kept out of their homes while police and the DEA investigate a fire and explosion that could be linked to drug activity.
Tenants at the 16-30 building are hearing that a METH LAB may have caused an overnight fire on the 4th floor. Meth labs CAN be explosive, but police aren’t talking about what they found until their investigation is complete.
The fire alarms woke Jessie and her roommate overnight. WNEW reporter Matt DelSignore caught up with her. “We came out and saw flames coming out of the same floor where we live. It’s very scary,” says Jessie.
Nobody was hurt in the fire. Police have not made any arrests.
