WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities have identified two people who were killed in a crash in northeast Washington following a police chase.
Police say 19-year-old Thaddeus Alphonso Howard and 18-year-old and William Kurland Joseph Adams IV, both of northwest Washington, were killed in the crash early Sunday morning. Police say the driver of the minivan they were riding in lost control while being pursued by authorities and crashed into a police car.
A third person in the minivan, who is 17, remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday.
Police say a man told officers that someone in the minivan had shot at him. Authorities pursued the van until the driver lost control and hit a tree and a police car on Taylor Street. All three people were ejected from the vehicle.
