WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — District transportation officials are cautioning motorists they’ll be implementing single-lane closures on a northbound section of the Anacostia Freeway in southeast Washington for repaving starting Friday evening and running through noon Saturday.
A statement was issued by the District Department of Transportation saying single-lane closures on the freeway will be conducted between Howard Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast starting around 8 o’clock on Friday night.
The statement says the lane closures will allow for repaving work associated with the 11th Street bridge project and motorists should expect 20-minute traffic stoppages from midnight to 5 a.m. Saturday.
In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen conditions, work could be rescheduled.
