(CBS-DC) Craig Davis joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan and the Oklahoma native commented on the buzz surrounding Brandon Weeden among NFL Scouts in Mobile, AL during the Senior Bowl.
The 28-year-old Oklahoma State signal caller has improved his stock while initially being compared to the likes of Chris Weinke.
However, in order to get the most out of Weeden and for him to be successful, he needs to be drafted by a team looking for a starter, not a project.
“He’s going to come into a situation, He has to be drafted by a team that’s going to throw him in year one. You can’t say he has to learn the system or you have to give him a few years, ” Davis said.
Davis also said he likes the potential for Weeden to put up points in the NFL.
“I like him because he takes a lot of chances,” Davis commented. However, this comes with the risk of interceptions.
