Student Dies At MD Pro Wrestling School Run By Former WWE Star

SEVERN, MD (CBSDC) — A 25-year-old man was fatally injured after striking his head while training to become a pro wrestler at an academy run by a former WWE star in Maryland.

Authorities responded to Gillberg’s Pro Wrestling Academy in Severn at approximately 8:34 p.m. on Jan. 19 after Quentin Washington suffered the injury during a fall.

Washington, of District Heights, was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where he died the next day.

Anne Arundel County Homicide Detectives investigated and concluded there was no indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The pro wrestling school is run by former WWE wrestler Duane “Gillberg” Gill who is best known for his spoof of fellow pro wrestler Goldberg.
