Man Shot In Chillum Robbery, Police Hunt For Suspect

(CBSDC/AP) — An unidentified man suffered non-life threatening injuries when he was shot during a robbery attempt in Chillum, MD Tuesday night.

The victim was transported to the hospital gun shot wound to his leg.

The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of Madison St. shortly after 8:30 p.m.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and armed with a handgun — possibly a Beretta.

Prince Georges Police describe the shooter as a light-skin, black male. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with a neon-green reflecting coat and a tight-knit skull cap.

Police are canvasing the area and have requested a helicopter to aid in the search for the suspect.
