The Wizards are the only winless team in the NBA after falling for the second straight time against Boston, 100-92, Monday night. The Wizards dropped to 0-5 in a game that saw coach Flip Saunders get tossed just 90 seconds in for arguing a non-call.
Wizards’ forward Andray Blatche had his best game of the season with 28 points and nine rebounds. Teammate JaVale McGee continued to shine with 17 points and 14 rebounds, but the cagey Celtics closed out in the fourth quarter behind Ray Allen’s 27 points.
The Wizards led after every quarter except for the one that counted, the fourth.
“We are still trying to figure out how to win games,” assistant coach Randy Wittman said.
Wiz guard John Wall, the guy who has to help that process along, scored just 10 points while dishing out eight assists, but also had seven turnovers in the loss.
The Wizards get another crack at win #1 Wednesday night at Orlando.
