WASHINGTON (AP) — A woman says she was sexually assaulted in the District of Columbia by a man who entered her car near the Verizon Center as she drove with her 15-month-old son.
The woman told police that the man entered the passenger side of her car as she was leaving a parking garage downtown on Thursday evening. She had her infant child in the back seat.
The woman says she was forced at gunpoint to drive to another area of the city, where she says she was sexually assaulted.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier called the reported sexual assault “very alarming” at a news conference Friday. Police declined to discuss any injuries.
