The Caps (18-15-2, 38 points) host the Buffalo Sabres (17-16-3, 37 points) tonight for their last home game of 2011.  The Caps have played the Sabres twice this year, both in Buffalo, and lost both games by a combined 9-3 score.

The Caps are 12-5-1 at home this season, 4-1-0 in their last five home games, and 6-6-1 under Dale Hunter.  The Caps are also 21 for their last 21 on the penalty kill at Verizon Center.

The Caps probable line up tonight looks like: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin, Chimera-Laich-Ward, Johansson-Halpern-Brouwer, Hendricks-Beagle-Knuble, Alzner-Carlson, Hamrlik-Wideman, Erskine-Orlov.  The probable healthy scratches tonight for the Capitals look like Mathieu Perreault and Jeff Schultz.  Mike Green fully practiced for the fourth straight game and is likely to play sometime next week.

Tomas Vokoun (13-8-0, 2.67 GAA, .911 Save pct.) is in goal for the second straight game for the Capitals.

Listen here to what Dale Hunter & Mike Knuble had to say as the Capitals get ready to face the Buffalo Sabres tonight.
