WASHINGTON (AP) — A Pennsylvania man returning to Washington Dulles International Airport is charged with attempting to smuggle more than $300,000 worth of heroin into the United States, hiding the drugs in soccer clothes and a banner.

The Washington Examiner reports charges have been filed in federal court in Alexandria, Va., against Elias Casiano Jr. who flew into Dulles from Bolivia on Saturday.

Court documents say the Hazleton, Pa., resident had about 10 pounds of suspected heroin sewn into the lining of four pairs of soccer paints and two pairs of soccer shorts as well as concealed in a soccer team banner.

A Customs and Border Protection spokesman says the drugs have a street value of about $315,000.

A message left at a telephone listing for Casiano was not immediately returned.
