Brooks Laich joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan after the Capitals’ 5-1 loss at the Verizon Center against the Philadelphia Flyers.  Laich was asked point blank if Caps fans should panic close to 30 games into the season.

“I don’t think there’s any reason to panic,”  Laich responded.  “I don’t think you’re going to get anything good out of panicking,” he added, saying it’s better to stay positive even though the team has not been performing to expectations.

One of the areas Laich thinks they need to improve on is goals against.

“We have to clean up areas of our game,”  he said.  “Looking at the standings this morning, there’s only one team in the playoff picture in the Eastern and Western conference that has given up more goals than we have.”
