The Caps held practice today a day after falling to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 at Verizon Center. The Caps ran their same forward lines they have been with the only difference being Mike Knuble moved up to the second line and rotating with Cody Eakin.
Roman Hamrlik missed practice and is day to day with an undisclosed injury. Capitals Head Coach Dale Hunter says Hamrlik has a lower body injury and there has been no decision on if he will play tomorrow, but that’s why he was scratched yesterday. The forward lines today looked like: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Brouwer, Semin-Johansson-Knuble/Eakin, Chimera-Laich-Ward, Hendricks-Perreault-Halpern.
John Carlson would not talk about his hit on Matt Cooke yesterday, but the NHL said today that there won’t be a disciplinary hearing. The Caps will try and end their four game slide against the Ottawa Senators (12-11-2, 26 points) tomorrow.
Listen here to what Dale Hunter, Mike Knuble, John Carlson & Jeff Halpern had to say following practice today.
