Mike Green, who has skated four out of the last five days, spoke for the very first time today to the media since the firing of Bruce Boudreau, who he played under in AHL Hershey as well for the Capitals.

Green said he hasn’t talked to Boudreau yet, but added on his firing “I think it was a necessary thing”.  He went on to say, “Obviously he was a great coach and unfortunately we weren’t responding here in the last couple months”.  Green also talked about his injury.

“It’s just kind of a day-to-day thing,” Green said.  “No set schedule, just me getting back into shape & making sure I’m 100% healthy, if not 90% at least.”
