The Caps held a very optional practice today at KCI following their 4-3 win over the Coyotes last night, but one guy on the ice was Alexander Semin who was a healthy scratch for the first time since 2003-2004 last night.
Following Semin’s unexpected healthy scratch, Capitals Head Coach Bruce Boudreau said today that he didn’t know his line up yet for tomorrow’s home game against the Winnipeg Jets and wouldn’t say if Semin would or wouldn’t be a healthy scratch yet.
The Caps on the ice for the optional skate today were…Semin, Vokoun, Neuvirth, Carlson, Perreault, Schultz, Eakin, Erskine & Orlov.
John Erskine, who re-injured his surgically repaired left shoulder at practice Sunday and sat out yesterday’s game, said he could possibly play tomorrow or Friday depending on how his shoulder is feeling.
Listen here to what Bruce Boudreau, Karl Alzner, Nicklas Backstrom, Roman Hamrlik & John Erskine had to say today following yesterday’s win.
