Venezuelan police have put out a press release denying the death of Washington Nationals’ catcher Wilson Ramos. It reads “The Body of Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations (CICPC), denied the occurrence of the alleged corpse of Wilson Ramos in the vicinity of the Plaza de Toro de Valencia.”

However earlier, Rafael Rojas from VivaColorado.com, who first broke the kidnapping story, joined The Mike Wise Show today and said “the state law enforcement say they can’t confirm that Wilson Ramos is alive.” Rojas also said though, that there is no base for the rumors of Ramos’ death.

This afternoon a second vehicle believed to be used in the kidnapping was found by police as the continue the hunt for Ramos. Ultimas Noticias, a Venezuelan news publication, said that 300 law enforcement officers are still looking for Ramos.
