Venezuelan intelligence police have confirmed that Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos is still alive after being abducted last night by kidnappers. However, after almost a full day the kidnappers have not contacted Ramos family with a ransom demand or anything along those lines.
Police got a breakthrough earlier today when they found the vehicle used in the kidnapping in the town of Bejuma, an hour west of his home in Valencia.
The Nationals along with the MLB today said in a joint statement, “Our foremost concern is with Wilson Ramos and his family and our thoughts are with them at this time. Major League Baseball’s Department of Investigations is working with the appropriate authorities on this matter. Both Major League Baseball and the Washington Nationals have been instructed to make no further comment.”
Last night it was four gunmen who stormed his house and speed off in a van.
