Brooks Laich joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan following an exciting 5-4 overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks last night at the Verizon Center.
At one point, the Caps were down 3-0 to Anaheim and it was obvious coach Bruce Boudreau was furious at the team. Laich said that Boudreau gets mad when they let up goals, but becomes more upset when they are due to mistakes and sloppy play.
The controversy came when Alex Ovechkin was on the bench when the Caps pulled their goalie to get the game-tying goal.
“I don’t know what they’re really referring to cause he’s on the ice for the OT winner,” Laich said. If you’re on the ice for the most important of the game, I don’t know how you can say that,” he added.
Laich summed up the controversy by saying people in the morning just need something to talk about.
