Skins tight end Chris Cooley joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan with an update on his broken finger and John Beck’s first start as a Redskin.
Cooley said he surgery was successful in repairing his index finger but the hardest part is being able to withstand contact on it, like catching a football, without experiencing pain. However, Cooley’s timetable for return isn’t that long.
“You say it’s a broken bone. So you say it’s four to six weeks.”
As for the game against the Panthers, Skins haven’t deviated from their plan of attack even with a quarterback change from Rex Grossman to John Beck.
“The players feel this and I think the coaching staff feels this pretty strongly: We’re getting a lot of the same type of player out of [Rex Grossman and John Beck]. I think the biggest thing we need is John to play a consistent game.”
Cooley also says that there is no divide on the team on who’s pro-Rex and who’s pro-Beck. He said that he would have Grossman just like Moss did because it’s a matter of teammates looking out for each other.
