Redskins beat reporter Grant Paulsen joined “The Sports Junkies” in studio and gave his mountain of evidence on why he believes coach Mike Shanahan will announce the beginning of the John Beck Era Wednesday when the head coach addresses the media.

“Let’s just evaluate the Redskins time for Rex Grossman.  Nine games now, 19 turnovers.  Of those nine games, eight starts,”  Grant said.  The reason why I say you can’t pretend like Chicago didn’t happen is because the reads are still the same.  The turnovers are still there.  It’s a sample size that includes 46 games and 39 starts,” he added.

Paulsen said the biggest different between the Redskins and teams who are considered elite in the NFL is turnover margin.

“Coming into this weekend, the top five teams in turnover margin are a combined 21 and 3… If your quarterback can’t protect the football and you can’t trust him to make reads, you can’t play him!”
