Capitals’ analyst for Comcast Sports Net Craig Laughlin joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan to preview the upcoming hockey season and what the Caps’ expectations should be.
The Locker said the organization spent the money to retool the team with additions like Tomas Vokoun. However Laughlin believes the key comes down to chemistry the team’s core stepping up.
“Do we put the pressure on the five guys that I’ve talked to you about at the end of last season, the so-called ‘young guns.’ They’re no longer young,” He said. “You can never win unless your best players are your best players, and last year they were not,” Laughlin added.
Expectations are not only high locally, expert publications think now is the time for the Caps. The Hockey News in Canada picked Washington to win the Stanley Cup.
