Skins tight end Chris Cooley joined “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan to help give the players perspective on the loss in Dallas on Monday Night Football and what it takes to recover and get up for a road game against the Rams.
Skins lost to the Cowboys 18-16 and failed to punch the ball across the goal line while in the red zone, but the key play was the 3rd and 21 conversion in the fourth quarter.
Cooley has watched the play after the game.
“Everyone makes mistakes, and I’m not saying that was a mistake. But you have to go out and perform what you’re asked to perform as a player, that’s your job. So, it was a tough situation for a lot of players. It was a damn tough situation for DeAngelo Hall. And they made a good play. Tony [Romo] made a good play.”
Even with the near win in Dallas, Cooley won’t let it linger in his and his teammates’ minds with a short week in St. Louis.
“If you want to make a run in our division and if you want to make a run in the NFC this year, especially with our schedule you can’t get behind. We really can’t afford to get behind in terms of wins and losses. This is a huge game for us. Three and one is huge for us.”
