The Caps play their fourth preseason game, first at Verizon Center, tonight and are still looking for their first win.  The Caps will host the Columbus Blue Jackets and it will be their second meeting in the preseason after the Caps lost in Columbus 4-3 in overtime last Wednesday.

The Capitals probable lines for the game are: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Brouwer, Semin-Johansson-Knuble, Bourque-Perreault-Eakin, Hendricks-Halpern-Beagle, Schultz-Green, Wideman-Hamrlik, Orlov-McNeill with Neuvirth being the starter and Vokoun backing him up.

The Caps who aren’t playing tonight are King, Chimera, Collins, Laich, Ward, Alzner, Carlson, Sjogren and Erskine.  Jason Chimera did skate though for the first time since Friday and said he missed the last few days for “precaution” reasons and said if it was regular season tonight he probably would play.  Brooks Laich didn’t skate today after leaving yesterday’s practice early, but Head Coach Bruce Boudreau said Laich will probably skate tomorrow.  John Erskine continues to wear the orange non contact jersey after offseason shoulder surgery.

Offseason acquisition Troy Brouwer will make his Capitals debut tonight after offseason shoulder surgery.  Brouwer was traded to the Capitals from the Chicago Blackhawks in the offseason and will play on the number one line tonight with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom.

Listen here to what Capitals Head Coach Bruce Boudreau and players Nicklas Backstrom, Troy Brouwer & Jason Chimera had to say as they prepare for their fourth preseason game.
