Skins tight end Chris Cooley joined “The Sports Junkies” in a chipper mood Friday morning. Maybe it’s because after watching the practice film, Cooley noticed he looked faster than he’s every looked.
It’s very encouraging news since Cooley sat out the entire preseason with a knee injury. However, there was no way he was going to miss the home opener.
“There was never a question… I was pumped to be out there at all,” Skins pro bowl tight end said.
He was also asked about fans being high on Fred Davis, who had a break out game against the Giants.
“Fred Davis is pro bowl potential as a tight end. No doubt in my mind that Fred could be a pro bowl tight end.”
Cooley said the biggest challenge is proving to the coaching staff that both of them belong on the field at the same time, which is known as a “tiger” package as opposed to “gator” packages, where three receivers are in the game.
