Everybody is scared. Everybody is thinking about the past decade which has been full of disappointment for Redskins fans.

So even though many suspect the Redskins have a good shot of beating the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, nobody wants to go out on a limb and say that it will happen.

Well I will! The Redskins will get to 2-0 on the season with a win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Chalk it up. Flaim’s Games. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Here’s why the Redskins will beat the Cardinals:

(1) When teams travel from the west coast to the east coast to play a 1:00 game on Sunday they win less than 20% of the time.

(2) Kevin Kolb isn’t nearly as good as he showed during his debut versus Carolina. In the opener Kolb threw for over 300 yards with a ridiculous quarterback rating of 130. Kolb may be the answer in Arizona, but throughout his career Rex Grossman actually has a better turnover ratio. In fact, Kolb has thrown 14 interceptions while throwing just 13 touchdowns. He’s also fumbled eight times. I believe this improved Redskins defense forces Kolb into a couple of costly mistakes.

(3) Arizona’s defense stinks. Last year the Cardinals finished in the bottom third of the league against the pass and that was with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie who is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. This year they’ve already allowed Cam Newton, a rookie, to shred them for 422 yards and a couple of touchdowns. I’m not saying Rex Grossman is going to duplicate that, but he should have a big game.

Redskins 27, Cardinals 17
