Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder has dismissed his defamation lawsuit against the Washington City Paper.
Snyder was suing the paper and one of its writers, David McKenna, over a November, 2010 article that stated Snyder ‘got caught forging names as a telemarketer with Snyder Communication’ as well as ordering the clearing of trees on federally protected land.
Redskins PR Spokesperson Tony Wyllie stated in a press release that “We see nothing further to be gained at this time through continuing the lawsuit. We prefer to focus on the coming football season and the business at hand.”
Snyder was criticized last week when he said in an New York Times interview that he had not even read the article in which he was suing over.
