Redskins tight end Chris Cooley joined “The Sports Junkies” after the 29-24 win in their final preseason game against the Buccaneers.

Now that preseason is over, the Redskins have to trim their roster to 53 players.  Cooley offered his opinion on what players have impressed him in camp and who could be released.

The Skins tight end believes Terrance Austin has a real shot to make the team and has impressed Cooley the most in camp.  One of the players he thinks will be cut is veteran full back Mike Sellers.

“The thing about Mike is that he has so much value and dependability in terms of special teams.  A guy that you can put in in any situation.  As a veteran you never want to play in the fourth quarter though”

With regular season football starting, the Cowboys is Washington’s rival, but Cooley believes the team to beat in the division is the Eagles.  The combination of the players they added this offseason and building on their success last year makes them Cooley’s target.

Cooley wouldn’t be surprised if any of the teams in the NFC East won the division, but Philly is the team to beat.

Cooley give his roster breakdown according to what he’s seen in training camp.

Cooley updates the fans on the status of his knee.
