Yesterday the Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball team was in Beijing for a pre season basketball tournament. The purpose of this tournament is to spread basketball over seas and gain exposure for American college sports.
The Hoyas were matched up against the professional team Bayi Rockets.
In the second half, fouling issues had tensions at their peak. As a Georgetown guard was fouled int he corner, a bench clearing brawl broke out.
The Washington Post’s Gene Wang was on site and had a first hang account of the fight. While things got crazy, Wang said that while he was “scared for his safety” he was not “scared for his life”.
