Redskins beat reporter Grant Paulsen joins “The Sports Junkies” to tell us whose value is rising and who is falling after the first preseason game and leading up the team’s second game in Indianapolis.
One of the players who’ s earning his keep is Brandon Banks, who has impressed coaches and fans with his kickoff and punt returns.
“I think he’s going to be really hard to cut if he keeps making plays on Special Teams. We were told by several people he’s lost a little bit of that burst, he doesn’t have the same speed, but he uses blockers well, he’s still patient on his returns, he still made two huge plays.”
Another wide receiver expected to make the roster is Leonard Hankerson, who hasn’t performed well in practice and in the Skins win against the Steelers. Hankerson has had problems catching the football and running crisp routes.
Hankerson is slotted to be the number four receiver on the team, but will be relegated to red zone opportunities early if his hands do not progress.
