Daily Bryce Harper Watch – August 10th, 2011

Bryce Harper and the Senators faced the Richmond Flying Squirrels tonight, with the night ending just a tad early for the young phenom.  Harper was ejected after arguing over strike three call he did not agree with.  Before being ejected, Harper was 0-for-3 with 2 strikeouts.  I’d show you the video of the strike 3 call, but it’s ruined by fans in the stands screaming and taunting Harper.

The teams combined for 19 strikeouts in what was an ugly game all-around.  Harrisburg lost 3-1 and only finished with 5 hits. Pat Lehmen (George Washington) gets credit for the loss after giving up 2 in the 9th.

Harper started – but didn’t finish – in Left Field and batted fifth in the order.  After going 0-for-3 that drops his average to .248 while at AA Harrisburg.  Harrisburg finishes their 3-game set against Richmond tomorrow at 7:05.
