Fans Shouldn’t Get Too Excited For Tiger’s Comeback

Author and Golf Channel analyst John Feinstein joins the Junkies to assess Tiger’s comeback to golf at the WGC Bridgestone in Akron after his long layoff since the Masters due to injury.

Feinstein was impressed with Tiger, claiming it is very difficult to finish two under par after such a long break and a swing change.  The most impressive part was finishing two under after only hitting five fairways in regulation.

Tiger looked like the old Tiger, with his ability to scrable out of the rough and get up and down to save par.

Still, Feinstein thinks Tiger fans shouldn’t get too excited yet.

“You don’t want to get crazy either way.  If he shot 78 instead of 68, you know, I would have said ‘Hey, the guy hasn’t played a competative round of golf for 11 weeks.’  But the flip side is when he came back after his post-accident break, the first day at the Masters, he shot his lowest score ever at the Masters.”
