Redskins Signings Finally Practice
More from 106.7 the Fan
The new NFL CBA was ratified today a little before 5pm allowing all the Redskins free agent signings to practice for the first time today. The Redskins purposely moved their full practice from 8:30am to 4pm hoping that the CBA would be ratified by then and the free agents could practice, there was a slight delay but they still got close to an hour and a half in. Since they couldn’t practice to start practice they stretched on a separate field and then just watched position drills. Santana Moss yelled out “I’m tired of being neglected” and told the other free agent signings to stay ready as they waited.
On the injury front, Ryan Torain had four screws put into his hand and will be out the next 7 to 10 days. Chris Cooley sat on the sidelines for most of practice as a precaution because he’s been sore for about the last week. Malcolm Kelly also was on the sidelines and Mike Shanahan said he has a sore groin or hamstring and that he just tweaked. Kelly told reporters, including 106.7’s Grant Paulsen, that it was his right foot. Kelly has often been injured throughout his career with the Redskins and Shanahan said, “Obviously if you keep on getting hurt, it’s not going to help your chances of making the football team.”
The Redskins go back to normal tomorrow with their full practice at 8:30am. Check out what Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan had to say on the injury front, on the crazy day, on how the newly signed Redskins looked, who is impressing him and if they are looking to still bring players in.
