Nationals manager Davey Johnson broke a bit of news when he appeared on The Mike Wise Show with Holden Kushner this afternoon. The Nationals skipper said that the Nationals pitching phenom, Stephen Strasburg, who has missed all of this season recovering from Tommy John surgery, barring any setbacks could return to the big league club sometime in September.
“I hear his progress is coming along great,” Johnson said. “He’s been throwing the ball real well and hasn’t had any setbacks to speak of. I look for him sometime late in the year, September.”
