The Washington Nationals lost another close game Saturday night against the Colorado Rockies by a score of 2-1. Jason Marquis was tagged with the lost despite only allowing the two runs over six innings of work. Ian Desmond scored the lone Nationals run when he tripled to lead off the bottom of the sixth and scored on Rick Ankiel’s groundout. The Nationals threatened late with runners on first and third, but a Jayson Werth double play ended the game. The Nats look to take the final game from the Rockies Sunday afternoon before heading into the All-Star break.
