Detwiler Leads Nats to Victory over Cubs
Davey Johnson Post-Game Interview
Locker Room Interviews (Drew Storen & Ross Detwiler)
In his first game with the team this season, Ross Detwiler looked impressive as he led the Washington Nationals to a 3-2 win over the visiting Chicago Cubs. Detwiler was recently called up from AAA after the Nationals played a doubleheader over the weekend and could get another chance to pitch this week. He threw five and one-third innings, giving up two runs on a home run to Aramis Ramirez in the sixth before being pulled. He only allowed four hits, two of which were in his final inning of work. The bullpen was impressive again with Drew Storen earning his 21st save of the season. All of the Nationals’ runs came in the first inning. Two were scored when Chicago’s Jeff Baker made a costly error, throwing the ball into the outfield on what should have been a double play. Wilson Ramos put one more run across, which would ultimately be the game-winner. The Nationals are now one game over .500 (44-43) and look to take the series tomorrow night against the Cubs.
