Albert Haynesworth has not participated in any of the seven player-run practices the Redskins have held this offseason, and he’s not planning on showing up at the team’s workout on Thursday morning either.
“I was never informed of the players camp,” Haynesworth told 106.7 The Fan via text message. “So no, I will not be there.”
The maligned defensive lineman wasn’t expected to take part in the Redskins’ player-run workouts this week. He finished last season suspended for conduct detrimental to his team, missing Washington’s last four games after he refused to talk to his head coach Mike Shanahan.
When asked if he wanted to return to Washington for a third season this fall, Haynesworth refused to comment.
“I’m not talking. Don’t have anything to say.” He also offered that “time will tell” if he’s retained by Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen.
When reached for comment, one of the Redskins who has been at the team’s workouts suggested “if Haynesworth wanted to come train with us, he would be here.”
