The Caps had one last skate this morning as they prepare for a must win game tonight in Tampa.  The Caps are down 0-2 in the series and with back to back games tonight and tomorrow in Tampa, today’s game is crucial.  The Lightning are 5-0 when scoring the first goal in the playoffs, so getting on the board first for the Caps is key.

The Lightning have stifled the Caps power play stopping all eleven opportunities.  The Lightning’s penalty kill has been so good they have stopped 45 of 46 chances in the playoffs.  Michal Neuvirth (4-3, 1.77 GAA., .928 Save pct., 1 shutout) will continue to be in goal for the Capitals against Dwayne Roloson (6-3, 1.80 GAA., .947 Save pct., 1 shutout) for the Lightning.

Matt Hendricks is likely scratched once again for the Capitals, along with Sloan, Beagle, King, Pinizzotto, Holtby and Collins who all took the extra skate today.  Dennis Wideman and Tom Poti didn’t make the trip and still no timetable for their returns.  The Lightning will be without Pavel Kubina and Simon Gagne for the second game in a row.  Tonight’s game is a special 6:30 pm face off.  Check out what Bruce Boudreau, Alex Ovechkin, Mike Green, Jason Arnott, Jeff Schultz, Eric Fehr and Matt Bradley had to say following the morning skate.
