The Capitals had an optional practice today and the guys who participated in it were 89, 26, 17, 42, 46, 6, 62, 25, 27, 3, 83, 1, 10, 4, 18, 30. The last time the Caps were doing 0-2 in a series was 2009 when they lost the first two games at Verizon Center to the New York Rangers and came back and won the series in seven games.
The Caps have really struggled on the power play, going 0-11 so far, while the Lightning are 2-9 on the power play. The Lightning are also 5-0 when they’ve scored first and have first period goals in both games. Game three and game four will be back to back on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, so whoever wins game three will have a lot of momentum for game four. Check out what Bruce Boudreau, Jeff Schultz, Jason Chimera, Mike Knuble, Brooks Laich, John Carlson and Karl Alzner had to say before they left to Florida today.
