Mike Knuble will take warm-ups for the Washington Capitals and could play for the first time since game three against the New York Rangers. Bruce Boudreau said Knuble will take warm-ups as “an inspiration” to the team, but Knuble got off the ice early today while Matt Hendricks skated for a lot longer than usual for a game day. John Carlson is expected to play tonight after only playing thirty seconds in the third period.
The Lightning are 4-0 when scoring first in the playoffs and have won four in a row. The Caps are 2-0 when scoring first, so the first goal could change the whole game. The Lightning have stopped 39 of their last 40 penalty kills and the Caps went 0-5 on the power play in game one. Michal Neuvirth (4-2, 1.62 GAA, .936 Save pct.) will be in goal for the Caps and has only allowed 11 goals all postseason which leads the NHL. Dwayne Roloson (5-3, 1.80 GAA., .947 Save pct.) will be in net for the Lightning. The next two games are on the road in Tampa so tonight is pivotal game for the Caps. Pavel Kubina and Simon Gagne are out for the Lightning tonight.
