The Capitals had one full practice today to prepare for game one against the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow at Verizon Center. The Caps haven’t played since Saturday while the Lightning flew straight from Pittsburgh this morning after taking care of the Penguins in seven games last night after having to come back from a 3-1 series deficit. Lightning goalie Dwayne Roloson is now 6-0 in elimination games in his career.
The Caps are fairly healthy, but most likely will be without Mike Knuble tomorrow and will still be without Dennis Wideman. Knuble and Wideman both skated before practice today with DJ King and all the Hershey call-ups and still no timetable for either. Wideman still hasn’t had a full practice with the team since his hematoma. Tom Poti was the only Capitals player not to skate at all today. The Caps lines at practice were: 21-19-8, 18-44-28, 25-90-16, 26-15-10-83, 55-52, 27-74, 4-23, 62-89.
Check out what Bruce Boudreau, Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Mike Green, Scott Hannan, Brooks Laich, Karl Alzner and Michal Neuvirth had to say following practice today.
