Reporting Sky Kerstein
The Capitals practiced again today at Kettler Capitals Iceplex still not knowing who their next opponent will be. One team they won’t be playing is the Buffalo Sabres who were eliminated last night. The Caps will either host the Montreal Canadiens if they beat the Boston Bruins tonight in a game seven showdown or if the Bruins eliminate the Canadiens it will be the winner of the Tampa Bay Lightning @ Pittsburgh Penguins tonight who also play a game seven tonight. The Caps will host game one likely either Friday or Saturday.
Mike Knuble, Dennis Wideman, Tom Poti and DJ King skated with Hershey call ups Braden Holtby, Mathieu Perreault, Steve Pinizzotto and Patrick McNeill before practice today. Bruce Boudreau said afterwards that there is no timetable on Knuble, but said sooner than later and he says he thinks he’ll be available in the second round at some point. With Wideman, Boudreau said that he doesn’t think Wideman will practice with the team tomorrow, after that all doors are open, who knows. Alexander Semin was back at practice today after missing yesterday’s with the flu. The lines today were: 21-19-8, 18-44-28, 25-90-16, 26-15-10-83, 55-52, 27-74, 4-23, 62-89.
