The Capitals have never played in a series under Bruce Boudreau that didn’t last seven games.  Today is there chance as they lead 3-1 in the best of seven series against the Rangers and hope to end it today with a win at Verizon Center.  The Caps were in this exact same situation a year ago and lost game five and then two more afterwards to fall 4-3 to the eighth seeded Montreal Canadiens in seven games.

The Caps will be without Mike Knuble once again and Brooks Laich is expected to take his spot on the #1 line.  The Caps lines are expected to be 8-19-21, 18-44-28, 25-90-16, 26-15-10, 55-52, 27-74, 4-23, 30.  The Caps expected scratches are Poti, Wideman, Collins, Knuble, Sloan, King and Beagle.

Michal Neuvirth (3-1, 1.45 GAA, .942 Save pct.) will be in goal once again for the Caps against Henrik Lundqvist (1-3, 2.08 GAA, .922 Save pct.) who is making hi9s 31st start in a row.  In all four games this series, nobody has scored in the first period.  Check out what Capitals Head Coach Bruce Boudreau and Rangers Head Coach John Tortorella had to say before the game today.
