The Capitals have never played in a series under Bruce Boudreau that didn’t last seven games. Today is there chance as they lead 3-1 in the best of seven series against the Rangers and hope to end it today with a win at Verizon Center. The Caps were in this exact same situation a year ago and lost game five and then two more afterwards to fall 4-3 to the eighth seeded Montreal Canadiens in seven games.
The Caps will be without Mike Knuble once again and Brooks Laich is expected to take his spot on the #1 line. The Caps lines are expected to be 8-19-21, 18-44-28, 25-90-16, 26-15-10, 55-52, 27-74, 4-23, 30. The Caps expected scratches are Poti, Wideman, Collins, Knuble, Sloan, King and Beagle.
Michal Neuvirth (3-1, 1.45 GAA, .942 Save pct.) will be in goal once again for the Caps against Henrik Lundqvist (1-3, 2.08 GAA, .922 Save pct.) who is making hi9s 31st start in a row.
