George Mason University’s Jim Larranaga has had discussions with University of Miami officials regarding their vacant men’s basketball coach position, but nothing has been decided, a source within the program told Sports Radio 106.7 The Fan late Thursday.
This source also said there was no team meeting on Thursday evening.
The New York Post first reported that a team meeting had taken place and that was a “strong sign” Larranaga was leaving for Miami. Larranaga is 273-164 in Fairfax and led GMU to the Final Four in 2006 and a victory over Villanova in this year’s tournament.
