The Capitals had a very optional practice today following their game one overtime thriller victory over the New York Rangers last night.  The Capitals take a 1-0 lead in the best of seven first round series and host the Rangers for a 7:30pm faceoff in game two tomorrow night.

The Caps who participated in practice today were: 1, 27, 26, 17, 83, 89, 25, 55, 10, 16, 4, 62, 30, 74, 52.  Capitals Head Coach Bruce Boudreau said Tom Poti didn’t skate today due to soreness from working out hard yesterday.  Boudreau admitted that since the defense is playing well and Poti hasn’t played in four months that he probably wouldn’t play unless injuries occur on the blue line.  The Capitals will have their morning skate tomorrow at 10am from Kettler Capitals Iceplex as they continue to prepare for game two.

Check out what Bruce Boudreau, Alex Ovechkin, John Carlson, Karl Alzner, Michal Neuvirth, Jason Chimera, Matt Bradley, Scott Hannan and Matt Hendricks had to say following practice today.
