Michal Neuvirth (27-12-4, 2.45 GAA, .914 Save pct., 4 shutouts) confirmed he will make his NHL playoff debut in net tomorrow against the New York Rangers in game one of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Neuvirth has led the Hershey Bears to two straight Calder Cups, but has never played on a stage this big before. He went 1-1-0, 4.50 GAA and .839 Save pct. in two starts against the Rangers this season. Boudreau said they have a lot of belief in Neuvirth and that he has played really big in big games this season.
Head Coach Bruce Boudreau said Mike Green is a game-time decision for tomorrow, but Green continues to say he’s 100 percent and ready to go. The Capitals are 16-3-1 and averaging under two goals against since Mike Green last played for the Capitals against the Rangers on February 25th. The Caps went with their same forward lines as yesterday today, 8-19-22, 18-44-28, 21-90-25, 26-15-10, 16-83-17 and practiced mainly special teams today. All the Capitals fully practiced besides Dennis Wideman who we haven’t seen since his injury.
