The Capitals (48-22-11, 107 points) head to Florida to finish off their regular season schedule against the Panthers (29-39-12, 70 points). The Caps can clinch the #1 seed in the East with either a win or send the game to overtime or a Flyers loss in one of their two remaining games. The possible playoff match up for the Caps is still up in the air, but looks like either the Carolina Hurricanes or New York Rangers are the most likely first round opponent for the Capitals.
Mike Green says “absolutely, yeah” when asked if the plan was for him to be back in the line up tomorrow. Bruce Boudreau wouldn’t confirm it, but after talking to Boudreau, it sounds like his entire line up is up in the air depending on the Philadelphia Flyers @ Buffalo Sabres game tonight. Green has only played in 49 games this season, 8 goals and 16 assists, and hasn’t played since February 25th against the Rangers. Sean Collins was still with the team at practice and all the rest of the Caps besides Dennis Wideman were on the ice this morning. The Caps forward lines this morning were: 8-19-22, 18-44-28, 21-90-25, 26-15-10, 17-83-16. Check out what Bruce Boudreau, Jason Arnott and Mike Green had to say after practice.
